Change the Tool, Not the Patient

Remember: this is a fully customizable hat!

It was really important to me to write a hat pattern that could be adjusted to fit each patient - something a nurse or doctor could just grab and fit perfectly to the person in the hospital room. Acrylic yarn makes each hat stretchy, and without defined button holes, each mountain+valley becomes the perfect spot for a button.

Believe it or not, most patients will wear either a Size 3 or a Size 4. If you are not sure which size you might need, go bigger.

Sizes below do not include stretchy-ness and may vary based on the crocheter.

Size 1: 12" circumference, 5" tall; 8" chin strap

Size 2: 16" circumference, 6" tall; 9" chin strap

Size 3: 18" circumference, 7" tall; 11.5" chin strap

Size 4: 22" circumference, 8" tall; 15" chin strap

Select a size, pick the patient's favorite color, and no more mummy-wrapping!

I Promise - the EEG Box Fits!

The circle in the top of the hat is made by crocheting directly into an elastic hair tie!

The opening in the top of the hat will stretch around the EEG box before OR after the leads are attached to the patient's head. Watch the video below for how much of a stretch there is!!

Adjusting Hat Length + Chin Strap

This hat is SO easy to adjust!

Hat too long? Fold up the brim and button in place with chin strap!

Chin strap too long? Button up higher on the inside of the hat!
